Most commercial ice machines have a life span of about four to five years. However, the amount of use they receive, how much care and maintenance you give them, and so much more will ultimately decide the total life span of your ice maker. Over your unit’s life, it’s common to experience malfunctions from time to time.
One of the most typical is your ice maker running but not making any ice. This can happen when the ambient temperature is too high or there is a clog in the water supply filter. Some other possible culprits include a faulty water inlet valve, dirty condenser coils, and a faulty ice level sensor. One of our technicians can thoroughly assess your unit and make a swift recommendation on how to repair it.
One other pesky issue is having low ice production from your unit. You’ll notice the ice either is made very slowly or just in very small batches. The reason behind this could be inadequate water flow that simply isn’t supplying enough water. Other potential issues include a malfunctioning condenser, poor air ventilation, a dirty evaporator plate, and a high room temperature.
No one likes having an ice maker that leaks water on the floor. If you notice this issue with your unit, it requires prompt repair service to prevent further damage. This problem could be the result of something simple like a clog in your drain line. It could also be the result of a cracked water supply line, a faulty water pump, or short cycling.
