Personalized Mini-Split AC System Solutions
Many homeowners don’t schedule mini-split AC service until a problem occurs, and that’s often a mistake. We recommend scheduling a tune-up in early spring before the hot weather arrives. Most mini-split warranties require it, and cleaner equipment promotes better air quality. It’s also an opportunity to fix normal wear and tear before it becomes a serious problem.
Even with routine maintenance, watch and listen for potential problems throughout the summer. Airflow obstructions can affect your comfort, increase your electric bills, and cause unnecessary wear and tear. It’s also important not to ignore faint, musty odors.
Mustiness can be a sign that microbial growth is on the evaporator coil, which can affect your health. It may also suggest mold or mildew growth in the condensate drainage system.
If you’d like to install a mini-spit, the first step is to determine how many zones you need or want. The average residential system has between two and four zones, but many more are possible.
Once we’ve identified the zones, we’ll perform a custom load calculation to determine the needed cooling output. The individual calculations will help you make comfort choices for those zones. The total output will indicate the size of the outdoor compressor unit you need.
For each zone, there are numerous options, allowing you to select different configurations for each area. Wall-mounted units are the most economical option, and modern versions require lots of wall space.
There are several ceiling-mounted configurations available. Sometimes, they’re necessary, such as in large kitchens with open layouts. Other times, our customers prefer a sleek and discreet aesthetic unit.
There are many potential benefits to installing a new mini-split AC system:
- Quieter operation
- Better indoor air quality
- Smaller carbon footprint
- Lower monthly cooling costs
- Faster cooling and lower humidity
- Rebates and other energy incentives
